Stink Bugs

The Brown-marmorated Stink Bug

The Brown-marmorated stink bug was first discovered in Allentown, PA about 10 years ago. Since that time, this stink bug has successfully spread up and down the Eastern Seaboard and across the United States to the West Coast. It is a serious agricultural pest, being especially injurious to fruit crops, and has the habit of large numbers of them infesting our buildings. They are extremely strong fliers. As the weather cools in the fall, stink bugs head for shelter to spend the winter. Hundreds may invade buildings, as they squeeze themselves into attics, overhanging roofs, shake-shingled roofs, around windows and doors, and air-conditioning units. Stink bugs get their name from the defensive odor they emit when disturbed or crushed.

Amendt Pest Control’s highly-trained and State-certified sales and service technician staff have years of experience tackling these pesky insects. They will set up a program to control them before they can get indoors and make recommendations to prevent future invasion.
